Eleven years ago, Steve became exhausted with trying to organise his own holidays. Thinking that other people might be facing the same difficulties, he sold the successful Pet Food delivery service he had run for twenty years, and started Up’n'Go Travel- a travel agency that offers the very best rates and highest level of customer service, while placing the convenience of its members at the forefront. Steve is proud that Up’n'Go Travel is a family owned and operated Australian business.

Favourite Destination:
If you’re looking for a fantastic family holiday destination, Steve recommends Palm Cove in Northern Queensland. “It’s a great area, and one of the Bruce Family’s regular holiday destinations! The landscape is breathtaking- here, Queensland’s tropical rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. I especially love the beautiful white beaches, the relaxed atmosphere and the fantastic restaurants.”

Travel Tip:
“When packing for your holiday, try not to stress. On any holiday, the bare minimum packing requirements are photographic ID, any prescription medications and a credit card. After all, whatever you forget to bring, you can always purchase while on your holiday.”

After discovering a passion for travel (which he shares with his father), Jake spent ten years working at Up’n'Go Travel in a variety of roles from sales representative to travel agent. Five years ago, he became partners with his father Steve and is now a proud Director of the Company. Jake seeks to share his expertise, insider’s knowledge and travel tips to make your holiday a memorable one.

Favourite Destination:
As a fan of everything sun, sand and surf, Jake’s favourite travel destination is the Whitsunday Islands. “This area is perfect for adventure enthusiasts; travellers can enjoy everything from jet skiing to scuba diving. If you’re feeling particularly daring, you could even give parasailing a try.”

For those of you seeking a romantic rendezvous, Jake believes “…there is nothing better than sailing around the picturesque islands at sunset with a glass of Champagne. That will definitely keep her happy.”

Travel Tip:
“Make sure you always pack sunscreen and aloe vera gel. There is nothing worse than enjoying a sunny day on the water, then paying for it at night when the sunburn kicks in.”

The latest addition to Up’n'Go Travel, Mandy brings a wealth of sales experience and her Degree in Communications to the team. An avid traveller herself, Mandy understands that the smallest detail can make or break a dream holiday! She hopes to help to bring the joy of travelling to all Australians, no matter their budget or taste.

Whether you’ve packed high heels or thongs, you are sure to find an activity to suit.”
“For music lovers, a particular highlight is the Noosa Jazz Festival, which is held at the end of August each year- but make sure you book early, because it’s extremely popular.”

For over fifteen years, Kathy has trained and worked as a travel agent with some of Australia’s leading agencies. Her love of travel has seen her journey extensively around the world and even become fluent in Balinese.

Despite having travelled all over the globe, Kathy lists Melbourne as her favourite destination. “Melbourne has such a great atmosphere and if you’re in the mood for shopping, you are in the right place. Along with the big department stores in the city centre, make sure to check out Queen Victoria Market for amazing arts and crafts and fresh local produce- plus, you simply can’t go past their homemade cinnamon donuts.”

Travel Tip:
“While packing, consider including some Zip-Loc bags. These are great for packing toiletries or snacks for during the day, or protecting the rest of your bag from wet swimwear or dirty washing. Also, to save space in your luggage, pack your socks into your shoes.”
